CUE CARD 1: DESCRIBE AN INTERESTING COVERSATION YOU HAD WITH SOMEONE
I have to admit that I’m not much of a social person – I mean, I am quite shy and inhibited, so most of the time I tend to avoid talking to strangers. But I do remember a time when I had to talk to a complete stranger, and as I remember it was around 5 years ago, on my very first trip to Ho Chi Minh City. It was just a short conversation but I can still remember it quite well.
I was a 20-year-old freshman back then, and I was unable to navigate my way to the HCMC University of Education where I was about to start studying. Back then Google Map’s wasn’t as popular as it is nowadays, so the only way I could figure out the way was by asking a local. So after hours of wandering around, I finally resorted to asking a lady who was selling noodles at a food cart near where I was standing. I asked the lady if she would be so kind to tell me the way to the HCMC University of Education and she kindly replied by pointing to the big building across the road and saying ’it’s over there.
The university was being renovated back then, so I was unable to recognize it, but before I went off to study I decided to sit down and order some noodles from the old lady and have a chat with her. It turns out that she was also from Ninh Thuan, which is my hometown. So we ended up chatting for ages about our lives and about how and why we had come to HCMC.
You know, I think I found this conversation so interesting simply because I found Mrs Kim to be such a nice lady. As the conversation went on and I got to know her better I realized that she had had quite a tough life, yet she had managed to maintain such a sweet and gentle personality that many other women who have been through similar struggles to her would have lost by now.

CUE CARD 2: DESCRIBE A PRIZE YOU HAVE WON
In the last annual shooting competition, I won the best performance award in the shooting. This is one of the most prestigious awards in the police department here in Greece. So, it made me honored. Thank you for your pleasant cue card topic. The question reminds me to describe the memories of the competition day.
The annual shooting completion is held for various reasons. The most important reason is to increase and test the reflex actions of the police officers and how they react to situations. Moreover, it is also related to the fitness of the police officers. So, the authority organized for the competition, and I won the best shooter awards in this competition. There were no options left for me other than practicing. I had to practice a lot. After completing the duties, I went to the shooting ground and practiced shooting with various types of handguns and firearms. And on the competition day, it was a pressure to me
This was a competition where every police officer in the department can take part. But this year, the number of competitors was less. There were only 20 participants. And all of them were highly skilled in shooting different types of firearms. They were skilled in a rapid-fire, fast draw, shooting the criminals and protecting the victims, and more. I also own similar expertise like them. But it was upsetting for me to hold my fire when suddenly an ‘innocent’ man appeared on the shooting ground. I gathered the highest point and it was my luck, I think. Winning a prize is really enjoyable. I did not win any prizes during my academic career. But after joining the police department, I have won several other prizes and all of them are prestigious. Winning the shooting competition was really tough for me. All of my competitors were skilled and senior to me in position. As I crossed all the barriers and showed my skills in shooting, everyone praised me. So, the joys were sky-high.
CUE CARD 3: TALK ABOUT THE MOVIE YOU SAW RECENTLY
The film which I watched recently was a k-drama movie named “Doctor John”. The movie tells us information about one type of non-curable syndrome CIPA (Congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrotic) where people will not be able to feel any pain. They are very sensitive to survival as compared to normal human beings. Their Life span is very less where they can be affected by many infections.
I watched this series in my home, 2 months before Netflix.
Honestly speaking, I enjoyed watching it because I am able to learn something new regarding the different kinds of syndromes. Based upon that I have done some research related to various syndromes. I am still learning about it because it has made a huge impact on my heart and I am praying to god that none of the individuals should face this kind of syndrome in their lifetime. Generally, the play in which I see where a doctor determines the disease with 10 seconds in what the patient is suffering. This made me think, about how a doctor can be more accurate about the results which he found out. It directly shows us the passion which he had in his career. Though he has faced many hurdles, he overcomes and makes a place in every person’s heart. I take this as an encouragement for me to reach the goal and passion for my career.

CUE CARD 4: DESCRIBE A CITY OR TOWN WHERE YOU LIVE OR LIVED.
I live in one of the least populated regions of my country which only has about half a million people. Located in the northeastern part of my country, the city is not exactly known to many people in my country. But, as far I am concerned, this city has always been very special to me, and here I would like to tell you why in a minute.
Are you also suffering from the same issue of Facebook ads account being disabled? Then you come to the right place. We understand your frustration and will help you to reinstate the issue. So that your running business won’t affect by this.
Anyway, even though, this isn’t exactly a famous place, like many other cities of my country, the legend has it that it is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, regions of my country where people have been living for more than 500 years. Since most of the people here are either involved with farming or small businesses, only a very few industries or companies can be found there. Of course, recently, some agro-based industries are trying to make their way into this medium-sized city of ours, but the common people there, including me, aren’t too happy or excited about it as it will most likely raise the cost of living of an otherwise very ‘inexpensive” town.
Do you want to rank your Affiliate blog or Business Site? Then you come to the right place. Our San Diego SEO services Agency will help you to rank in top Serps real quick by following all white hat methods.
But, inexpensive or not, I have always loved each and everything about this city, especially, it’s downtown area which is always lively with lots of people, trying to enjoy their afternoon snacks and tea. By the way, I don’t only like this downtown area of my city, but also it happens to be the most familiar part of my city to me because it is in the wide streets of this area where I grew up riding my bicycle and hanging out with my friends as a young boy. The city has a few important landmarks too which include a very old church, a big public library, and a big lake.
Anyway, a couple of things make this city very special to me. The first thing, of course, is that I have grown up here with all kinds of happy memories. Second thing is that I really like the laid-back and easy-going lifestyle of our people here.
CUE CARD 5: DESCRIBE A GOAL THAT YOU ACHIEVED
By burning midnight oil, anyone can achieve whatever he wants. There are many successful people who have attained many things by working hard. I have also achieved many things in a similar way. One of my goals was to reduce stage fear. It is the incident of last year. I don’t know what happened to me, one day, I just decided to conquer my all fears. Stage fear was one of them. In order to reduce it, I decided to take part in the extempore competition. In this, the candidate is required to give a speech on the topic given there and then. I knew that I was not good enough to win that competition because I could not talk on the topic without preparations, but as I already said my goal was not to win the competition but to reduce my stage fear. It really needs guts to speak on stage in front of everyone.
I decided to do so. Thus, I gave my name to the competition. Just before the starting of that contest, I had cold feet. It became difficult for me to continue it and I was thinking of giving up. That time I recalled all those times when I tackled my hurdles and achieved my goals. My friends also encouraged me by saying that it is OK to feel nervous but giving up should never be an option. That time I gathered courage and decided to give a speech on the stage.
Although I was a little bit nervous when it was my turn, I tried my best. Even though I didn’t win the competition that day, the goal of removing stage fear was accomplished which I set for myself. It influenced positively my life and now, I don’t feel fear in doing public speaking

CUE CARD 6: TALK ABOUT SOMETHING YOU ENJOYED DOING IN THE GROUP
The group activity give chance to participants moving around together and work together. It’s useful in the early stages of team development. I like both individual and group activities. I took part in many group activities but here I would like to talk about the activity which I did in a group three years ago at college level, and I enjoyed a lot.
I took part in a competition. It was a team based competition, and we were three-person who took part in it. The competition based on different culture and traditions which presented through the presentation. My two friends Raman and Anu and I decided to present Punjabi culture. We had only two days for preparation. So we divide the work into three parts. We collected all information related to older people living style, clothing designs and traditions which they followed during functions such as marriage. We clicked pictures of this material and also collected some clothes and old accessories to present in front of judges.
I prepared a presentation of 30 minutes which describes everything in detail. On the competition day we wear traditional dresses which liked by all. We were successful to impressing the judges and won the prize in that competition so that was the group activity which I enjoyed.
CUE CARD 7: DESCRIBE A COUNTRY WHERE YOU WOULD LIKE TO WORK FOR A SHORT TIME
I have always considered the opportunity to work in a different country as a rare privilege, no matter whichever country it may be. But, if it ever comes to choosing a particular country to work in, I would certainly go for “Japan”.
Since my early university years, I have thought and learned of Japan as an ideal country to look for work opportunities for a number of reasons. But, before I go to explain why I want to work in that country, I would like to say a few things to introduce this great country.
Japan is the world’s 4th largest island country, in East Asia, that encompasses more than 6850 islands in the Pacific Ocean. Being popularly known as “Nippon” or the land of “the rising sun”, Japan also is the second largest “developed economy” and one of the most industrialized nations in the world. By the way, Japan is also one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world.
So, it is fair to assume that working opportunities in Japan is literally unlimited whether they want to work in manufacturing, mining and construction sectors, or service sectors. But, as far as I am concerned, I would like to work in the information technology (IT) sector as this great country has witnessed an exponential growth in the demand of IT professionals over the last few decades. In fact, I have even learned how Japanese companies are trying to attract foreign workers in order to meet this demand. So, if I ever get an opportunity to work in Japan, I would like to continue it for at least 3 years.
Anyway, I would like to work in Japan because it has a very good working culture, where everybody treats each other with great respect. Besides, working in a country like Japan would also allow me to gain valuable work experience and use it to further advance my career after coming back to work in my own country. Finally, I would like to work in this great country also because they have a very high salary structure.
CUE CARD 8: DESCRIBE AN IMPORTANT TECHNOLOGICAL PRODUCT YOU BOUGHT
I have bought a number of technological products, and the most significant one is my cell phone. That’s a MacBook Pro, which can be seen as the masterpiece of Apple. Due to its astonishing features, this laptop is prohibitively priced and only suitable for well-
off people. However, after many months working, I have saved up enough money to buy one. I caught sight of this laptop quite accidentally. That was a peaceful weekend when I was chilling out by binge watching my favourite movies on my old laptop. By chance, an advertisement popped up, announcing a newly-released mobile gadget from Apple, a tech behemoth in the US. You know, I was mesmerised by its nicely-designed appearance at first sight, which was the reason why I was determined to save money for it.
This is a very important tech device to me, as it was the very first thing that I bought without asking for my parents’ money. I mean, I just bought it with my own monthly allowance, after many months refraining myself from buying trendy clothes or delicious cups of milk tea to have enough money for this IPhone. It also helps me relax, keep in touch with other family members and seek information on the internet. That’s why I think this laptop is super important.

CUE CARD 9: DESCRIBE AN INTERESTING TRADITION IN YOUR COUNTRY.
When a custom continues from generation to generation it becomes a tradition. If I talk about my country India its culture and traditions are something which has now become renowned all across the world. There are several reasons in India.
Here I would like to talk about one nation is that touching the feet of elders for a blessing. This is one such tradition which is followed almost everywhere in the nation. It is an age-old tradition where teachers used to give blessings to their students when they touch their feet in order to show respect and value to them.
It is still in practice not only for teachers and discipline but also among elders and the younger generation. In my country, India, this is a very ubiquitous and well practice tradition that is taught by every parent to their wards. Apart from this, this helps the children to understand the importance of giving admiration to seniors.
Whenever elders visit our home if there are any occasions like a festival or an event is celebrated it is a custom to touch elder’s feet to make them feel valued. Furthermore, also students before going to give exams seek blessings of their parents and their grandparents by following this tradition.
Unfortunately these days many families are getting detached from the tradition as modern parents are not always teaching their kids about these values. It is paramount to put efforts to keep this tradition alive otherwise it can be a huge loss for the nation if these become obsolete as these are the things that keep the country united and its values high.
CUE CARD 10: DESCRIBE A PLACE FULL OF COLOURS
I remember during my childhood that family loved going for scenic drives in the countryside. On weekends we were usually all free and ready to do something nice together. We’d all hop in the car and drive around on quiet windy roads and stare out at the picturesque landscape. The best time to do that was usually in mid-Autumn towards the end of October. I grew up in a place that has a pretty temperate climate and during that time the leaves changed to become magnificent colours. The forests not too far away from my home were especially colourful due to them being full of red maple trees.
They really deserved that name because the leaves on those trees at that time had such a rich mixture of colours, including bright gold and intense reds and yellows. Most of the time was filled with just driving around and staring out of the car window. However, we sometimes stopped and did other things. One thing was hiking around on clearly marked forest trails in the wilderness. I really enjoy the outdoors and all of its splendours. Oh I can’t forget to say this. The best bit that I remember doing, when I was pretty small, was jumping in the crunchy leaves and breathing in the invigorating fresh air. Of course, it was a bit cooler then, so we had to dress in layers.
.
The small towns that we also passed through were also very charming and had good places to occasionally stop in. I remember once we stopped at a bakery and bought some home-made food to have a picnic outside. There is nothing like eating freshly made pumpkin pie while being surrounded by the dazzling display of colours. I guess you can say that I am very fortunate to see a lot of the beauty that nature offers. There was about a month long of quality autumn leave viewing near my old hometown. I really loved seeing the spectacular hues during that season. Thank you. That’s all I have to say.

When I read this book, I really felt awesome because this book was full of thoughts that described a person’s thinking, views over different things. After reading this book, I felt that this book not even contain any poetry, story but contain single-single line thoughts with number of stories. As name of book describes. This book was of 330 pages and approximately contained 1071 sentences or we can say 1071 stories about human beings. Digital technology has reshaped the world in more than one way during the last decade. As a result, a new way of living and working has also prevailed among people, especially Millennial. If you’ve heard about “digital nomad” – a work from-anywhere kind of employee, you already know how a specific digital skill set can improve and simplify your life, which is why I take great interest in and set Photoshop – one of the most powerful graphic design tool to be my next challenge to conquer.
Being known as an incredible image editing program, Photoshop has earned its reputation for good reasons. Created and maintained by Adobe, Photoshop provides users with a complete and advanced tool set to maximize their creativity. It can do anything regarding online media, for example, creating 3D images, resizing, colour correction and even editing video. Fancy as it sounds, to acquire Photoshop skill would be a painstaking process. CUE CARD 13: TALK ABOUT A TIME WHEN YOU GAVE ADVICE TO SOMEONE
In my journey of life, I have received plenty of advice from family members and friends. There is a vast difference between giving and receiving advice. Here, I am going to talk about a time when I gave advice to my best friend. I’m a very health conscious person every day I wake up early in the morning at 5:00 am. I prefer morning walk, yoga, and meditation as different forms of exercises.
However, my best friend is too lazy and he is not aware of his health; therefore, I gave him one best advice for a healthy life.
I gave one statement, which is not a statement but the slogan – “Early to bed early rise makes a person healthy, wealthy wise.”
I recommended him to wake up early in the morning and came with me for some exercise. In addition to that, everyone knows that an empty mind is a devil’s workshop. So, I told him to do work with his experience and by taking advice from others. Due to his nature, he used to take an excessive amount of fast food and junk food. I always advise him that “Health is Wealth.” If you lose your wealth you lose everything in life.
Soon he realized that he was wrong and he started to follow me. We both go for morning walk, yoga, and meditation. Furthermore, we joined a gym to maintain our fitness and started taking healthy diets. So, this was a time when I gave advice to my best friend.
CUE CARD 14: DESCRIBE A TIME WHEN YOU MADE A PROMISE TO SOMEONE
Many people are pretty casual about making promises. And it really irritates me, when people make promises/commitments, they have no intention to keep. I don’t make promises easily but if I do I try my best to fulfil them. Last year, during the coronavirus lockdown, my parents made me promise that I wouldn’t leave the house unnecessarily till the vaccine is released. My paternal grandparents live with us and they lie in the high-risk category because of their age. Moreover, my grandmother is also diabetic. So, all of us were really worried about my grandparents catching the virus.
I am a very social person and before the corona days, I used to spend at least two to three hours with my friends every day. I also spend a lot of time with my grandparents. In fact, sometimes I sleep on the couch in their room. My parents were worried that I might catch the virus if I spend too much time outdoors and pass it on to my grandparents.
So, I promised my parents that I would not loiter around and spend time indoors. It was very hard in the beginning. I felt bored as I couldn’t meet my friends. In fact, in the first few days, the only time I left the house was to get groceries. I was in contact with my friends on the phone and we used to pass the time by talking for hours on the phone.
However, within two three days, I ran out of things to talk about. Every day was the same. I was also angry at my parents for making me promise to not leave the house. But in a few days, I came to know that one of my friends had caught the virus. From that day onwards, I stopped complaining. Things also became a bit easier as I developed some new hobbies like reading the news and playing indoor games like chess and carom board with my grandparents. It’s been nearly 10 months since I made the promise, and I am glad I made the promise. In fact, I think I am still enjoying the company of my grandparents today because of that promise.
CUE CARD 15: DESCRIBE A TIME WHEN YOU SPENT A LOT OF MONEY ON SOMETHING
Today, I’m going to tell you about a time I spent a lot of money on buying a mobile phone.
Last month, while travelling back home from work, I was caught in a torrential downpour and got drenched. Unfortunately, my phone, which I put in my trousers’ pocket, got water damage too. I took it to the phone repair shop but all efforts were in vain. So, I decided to buy a new one.
At that time, Samsung had just launched their latest model, which was the Sam- sung Galaxy Note 10+. And needless to say, I was immediately hooked on it’s new design. It was gorgeous to look at and the image quality was incredible with nice vivid colours. The thing which I was particularly impressed by was the hole cut in the top for the selfie camera because it was totally smaller than any other model. Everything about this phone was perfectly amazing, except for one thing, the price. It was sold for an exorbitant price of $950. To be honest, I had never spent such a huge sum of money like that on anything before.
After a few days weighing up the cost, I finally made up my mind to buy this expensive phone. Normally, I would go to the mobile store to properly examine the phone before making a decision to buy it. But this time, I decided to purchase it online because the price on the website was $50 lower than in store. And the phone was delivered right the next day with no breakage or problems at all.
CUE CARD 16: DESCRIBE A VOLUNTEERING EXPERIENCE YOU HAVE HAD
I have not had many volunteering experiences in my life. But recently I got an opportunity to volunteer and I really liked it. In March 2020 when the Corona pandemic started in India our prime minister ordered a complete lockdown in the whole of India. Many labour class people were jobless all of a sudden. These people depend on their daily earning for their living and in one blow their source of earning was gone. There is an NGO in my hometown which advertised through the local Cable TV that they needed volunteers to provide food and other things of need to these workers. My friend and I decided to volunteer for this noble cause. We called the NGO and asked them where we had to come and what we had to do?
They told us that either we could help with the cooking or we could help with the delivery of food packets. We volunteered for cooking, as my parents were a bit sceptical about us going out for delivering food packets. We went for a whole month and cooked food for these labourers from morning till evening. Of course we all took proper precautions and we were always masked. It was very tiring but it gave us great happiness. I noticed that many people were donating things for these poor people. Every day I saw hundreds of packets of grocery and cooking oil there to give to the poor people who had suddenly lost their livelihood.
For the first time I realised that doing for others gives a lot of mental peace. I also realised that we keep cribbing for our problems, which are actually very small if we compare them to what so many around us are suffering from. I’ve started developing empathy for others. I feel very happy about it and it has changed my perspective about life a lot. I have learnt to value what I have and not crib for what I do not have. I remember that whole week when I used to come home my mother made me go straight to the bathroom and take a bath before letting me in any other room. She also used to wash my clothes and mask immediately. In a way my family also supported me for doing this volunteer work. So this was the volunteering experience that I had recently
CUE CARD 17: DESCRIBE A RISK YOU HAVE TAKEN WHICH HAD A POSITIVE RESULT
Last New Year holiday I planned to go on a trip with 3 of my office friends to an area far away from our hometown. That area is full of rain forests, wildlife, and historic places and luckily we got a good hotel offer for the season. So we planned everything for about 2 weeks before the trip to make sure nothing will be missed. My three friends are also girls so we called this trip as an” angel’s trip”, all our office staff also were well aware of this as we were planning it all the time.
Everything went as we planned on the 1st day and we visited some of the historic places and had a hike as well. We went in my car and I was the driver for the entire trip. Our 1st-day visits were over around 6.00 pm and suddenly there was a huge rain and we had to wait in a cafe for one and a half hours. Around 7.40 pm we started to go to the hotel which we booked and the Google map helped us to find the shortest way to go there in an hour. We were so tired by that time and in 15 mints we came to that road which showed on Google map. The road was fine at the beginning with houses beside and people were on the road. But when we drive more and more we felt that we are somewhere where there are more trees and no houses or people. The road was narrower than in the beginning, but luckily a man was cycling on to the other side. So we stopped and asked about the road from him and he said there won’t be a problem to go. We felt quite fine and continued, and according to the map, we will be at the hotel in just 20 mints.
We got a bit scared as it was too dark and at the same time. There were no lights on the road and only trees and bushes. We found something blocking the narrow road in front of us and that was a wild elephant. We were shocked and I stopped the car and switched off the lights. We kept quiet for more than 30 mints till the elephant moved. That was so shocking as the elephant was not a small one and if it troubled us, there was no one to help even. Luckily he moved at the end and we had no option but to continue slowly expecting any attacks. I drove the car by my gut feeling as we all were shaking with fear at that time.
Once we arrived at the hotel we told the manager about what happened and he said we had come through one of the biggest forests which had a lot of elephants and even bears. We thanked God. As we were safe, but until now we never told this to our parents.

Well, I love to listen to music. I have heard a plethora of songs which had sung by music bands. But here I would like to talk about my favourite music band named “Maan Music Band” which established unbelievable popularity in India. This band had established by a famous Punjabi folk singer “Anmol Gagan Maan” about five years ago. I explain it briefly.
I have been listening to their songs since my school life. “Maan Music Band” has lots of famous songs such as Punjab’s traditional folk songs such as Jagga, Heer-Ranjha, Soormey, as well as other songs such as Bullet, Honsla, Sooraj and so on. There are numerous reasons which are responsible for my likelihood of it.
Firstly, this music band performs in an open space such as a ground or a park. So, a crowd of people can watch their performance. Secondly, all the songs of this music band like by every age of people. For instance, the head of this music band is the most popular Punjabi singer and she knows the Punjabi tradition properly. She sings folk songs of Punjab in order to put her contribution in the Punjabi folk Lore. Every person likes her great enthusiasm and dare. Moreover, this music band is a group of girls who are well-educated and they know to play musical instruments. A few years ago, people thought that women are only for living in the four walls of the house and they can’t manage everything with their own efforts. But through this band, Anmol Gagan Maan advised to all people that men and women both are equal as well as both can do the same works such as working in the crop yields, water to the crop, do business outside the house and so on. Anmol Gagan Maan starts every concert of her music band with a lecture for building a belief and respect for ladies in individuals.
Eventually, Anmol Gagan Maan puts her contribution to improving the condition of a girl in society. I love this music band. Many times, I visit the concerts of “Maan Music Band”. But sometimes, when I am unable to go there, at that time I watch the live concert of this music band with the help of a social site YouTube. So, this “Maan Music Band” is my favourite music band.
CUE CARD 19: DESCRIBE A SUCCESSFUL SMALL BUSINESS YOU KNOW
Well, these days the start-up trend is booming like anything among youngsters in my city. However, starting and expanding a business is not a piece of cake. Although a significant proportion of people operate their own business, only a handful get to the top. Perhaps, there is a Myriad of small scale and large-scale industry in my city, but I am highly inspired by one of my uncle’s professional journey from rags to riches.
I vividly remember, when I was young, he used to discuss with my parents about the capital investment and infrastructure to set up his small ‘Dhaba’ which means a restaurant.
He was not financially sound plus he didn’t have any shop to sell his food, everyone suggested him to take his food on a bicycle and sell outside the city mall. He was extremely passionate about starting his trade, so he dedicatedly used to go and sell his ‘aloo paratha'(Indian bread with stuffed potato) outside the city mall.
Initially, he had to struggle to get customers, but by putting his endless efforts, he started to sell his dishes like hotcakes. I only managed to gravitate customers, but he sustained the taste and quality of food. Later he managed to get financial assistance from a bank by moving heaven and earth, to take this business to its peak level, which is not everyone’s cup of tea. Just after a couple of years he opened his small restaurant and named it ‘Apna Dhaba’.
With no time, his entrepreneurship and food got so popular that he also received an entrepreneur award by a local newspaper. Moreover, my cousins are also getting involved in this business by incorporating innovative ideas strategically to enhance this business. They have also created an app for online ordering and home delivery, which fascinated me to the core.
I firmly believe that Just because of his dedication and determination, his business has grown by leaps and bounds.

We were sitting together and chitchatting with each other .then, suddenly my friend asks us for a trip of Leh Ladakh. We accepted his proposal because it was my dream to go there and luckily my cousin also free at that time. This place was so adventurous. We were a total of six members who were going to this place and icing on the cake was that we went there on our personal bikes. It was a long road trip and we enjoyed our journey a lot.
This was an unusual trip for me because I already visited some of the hill stations, deserts but, I went there the first time. The whole journey was full of thrill and adventurous. We halted two stations in between our journey and around 6 o clock we reached our destination. We stayed in a tent house and enjoyed barbecue food. In addition to it, the next day we went for adventurous activities, for example, jeep safari, mountaineering, tracking, and wild water rafting. We enjoyed all these activities there and believe me it was full of fun. Moreover, we saw a river there which is fully covered with ice and looked so mesmerizing.
Furthermore, we clicked so many photographs in front of the river as well as on the top of the mountain while performing activities. I saved these photographs on my computer, and whenever I saw this picture, I recalled my all memories. All in all, this was an unusual trip which I enjoyed a lot.
CUE CARD 21: VISIT TO AN ART EXHIBITION/ GALLERY
The art exhibition is basically the display of creative artistic works of one artist or a collective group of artists. Students of art visit these exhibitions to view art first hand. Such visits enrich their imagination. Some people visit such exhibitions for sheer amusement or just to pass time. But for art students, these exhibitions are a learning process. I happened to visit one such display in my city last year.
This visit to the art gallery was conducted by the art teachers of our school. We, the art students, decided to go on a Saturday. The place of the exhibition was situated in the center of the city. The entrance to the hall was itself so artistically designed and the building was surrounded by beautiful rose gardens and fountains. This art exhibition was organized by the State Government to educate the general masses about the rich art and culture of Bengal that exists for centuries. The entry fee to the art hall was kept quite nominal to encourage more visitors and a special discount was offered to the students.
Almost all kinds of paintings such as still-life, abstract, and others were kept on display in the art exhibition. Besides the paintings and artworks of Bengal, similar paintings of other countries were also kept on display. The Bengal art segment was housed on the ground floor and the arts and paintings of other places were organized on the first and second floors. The paintings ranged from seasoned and world-famous painters to amateur painters. A section was provided for displaying the paintings of current art students. As art students ourselves, we were quite inspired by the sheer imagination and quality of these amateur painters.
The detailed information about the paintings, such as painters’ country of origin, the theme of the paintings, ethnicity, etc. was provided as a reference to the visitors. Our art teachers instructed us to precisely observe each and every work of art. They told us to jot down our perspectives and point of view about the artworks in a notebook.
It was really a good learning and inspiring experience for us and our teachers as well. The information and our perspectives that we jotted down in our notebooks were kept safely in our bags for discussion in our next class. We returned enriched from the art exhibition in the evening.
CUE CARD 22: DESCRIBE A GOOD DECISION YOU MADE RECENTLY
Well, I personally believe that it is important to make decisions in life because it helps to increase our confidence level. I have made various decisions in my life and learned so many things by making new decisions. But here I would like to talk about a good decision which I made recently. Needless to say, pollution has become a pressing issue for everyone it’s a daunting task for everyone to mitigate it from its roots. Although the government has made so many policies to reduce pollution, we are reeling under some issues.
This issue can be vanished by reducing the use of private vehicles. Honestly speaking, I always prefer to use my personal vehicle for traveling or shopping. I remember, last week, I was watching a video on YouTube regarding the benefits of using a bicycle and I got to know that using a bicycle has several benefits. For example, it helps people to stay as hale as healthy. At the same time, pollution can be reduced by using a bicycle for short distances.
After watching that video, I started riding a bicycle for many purposes. The interesting thing is that the distance between malls, grocery stores, supermarket, and other places are just a stone’s throw away from my hometown. This distance can be covered by using a bicycle. Not only this, I recommended my friends to use the bicycle as much as they can because physical activity is important for human beings. Many people from my hometown got inspired by me and by my friends also when they came to my home by using a bicycle.
They are following our idea of riding a bicycle. We often see new people at shopping malls and we recommend that they should buy a bicycle. Many people are supporting our decision because the root cause of the environmental problem is pollution. I was over the moon because the efforts I made for my decision were successful. Lastly, I would say this decision is one of the best decisions of my life because many people loved my advice.
CUE CARD 23: DESCRIBE A GOOD EXPERIENCE OF ONLINE SHOPPING
Well, we live in a technological era, technology spreads its legs in every NOOK and corner. I have always been interested in doing shopping with friends and family. It is the best way to spend my leisure time. Sometimes I like to do shopping with family outside and sometimes I prefer to do online shopping and I attain experience other good or bad. However here I will like to talk about a good experience from online shopping.
I vividly remembered that the first month my cousin’s sister’s marriage was held so I wanted to purchase an elegant dress for her marriage but due to extensive work, I had no time to do shopping with the family. Merely a few days left for her marriage yet I purchased nothing. I was perplexed by what I do. Then I discussed this matter with my friend. She suggested you should do online shopping on the Flip kart site. She told me it is an eminent young site among young for shopping. Apart from this, she told me this site also provides a huge discount to its customers. After that, I checked dresses on that site and fortunately, I found one dress that was black in color with a white combination. It was an Indo western dress that looked like a gown.
There are a few reasons why I found a good experience with online shopping. First of all, this site gives me a huge discount as a reward therefore, I got a beautiful dress at a reasonable price. Secondly, the material and quality of the product were amazing. In other words, I received a beautiful dress the same as I ordered.
Moreover, they provided fast delivery as I received my package within 2 days. Last but not least, when I opened my parcel I was surprised to get a 500 rupees coupon as a gift which I will use in the next shopping.
CUE CARD 24: DESCRIBE A PRODUCT YOU BOUGHT AND FELT REALLY HAPPY ABOUT IT
Thank you for allowing me to tell you something on this interesting cue card topic. Just like every other people, I also have to buy things for myself and my family, and it’s not that I always feel happy about my choices or purchases. But, today, I would like to talk about buying a product which really made me happy.
Anyway, the product, I bought that made me feel happy, was a vacuum cleaner for my home which I bought about 3 years ago. I needed to buy the vacuum cleaner because the old one, we had, got damaged because my 3 years old little nephew had poured water in it, apparently because he thought he needed to clean it!
It is worth mentioning here that it was for the first time that I bought a vacuum cleaner, so I was really very skeptical about it since I had almost no or very little knowledge about it. But, however, it turned out to be a really good product in the end. Interestingly, this vacuum cleaner had a beautiful and shiny magenta color, and it also felt rather light to carry, even though it was relatively bigger than a standard size family vacuum.
Of course, I will have to thank my sister-in-law in a big way for managing to purchase such a nice vacuum cleaner because it was her suggestion, after all, who had told me about what kind of vacuum cleaner I should have bought. She was also kind enough to give me some hints about the brands or the name of companies that manufactured the best kinds of vacuum cleaners.
I was really happy to buy this product, mainly because it ran and still ran without giving any kind of trouble whatsoever! I was happy for this nice-looking vacuum cleaner also because it didn’t really make much sound like many other vacuum cleaners in the market. Finally, it also had some great safety features if my little nephew wanted to “clean” it (again)
CUE CARD 25: A TIME WHEN YOU HELPED SOMEONE
Helping others and caring for them is a noble gesture and reflects one’s humanity. I have helped many people in my life with various things. I think it to be the best thing that I can do to give back to the world and make it a better place to live.
One such time was when I helped a small child with his studies, specifically his exam preparations. When I was in the tenth standard, our maid brought her son along with her so that she could keep an eye on him while he studied. He was in the fifth standard and was a weak student causing his mother to be worried about him. I called him up to my study table and looked at his books. With her permission, I sat down to guide him through his course material, one subject after the other. After two hours, we both were tired and I asked him to come to me daily from the next day. His mid-term examinations were due in a month and I decided to tutor him for two hours each day till then. I followed a set timetable dedicating time to each subject. I taught him all the important chapters, cleared his doubts, and gave him homework and a lot of questions for his practice.
He slowly and steadily gained confidence and performed well in his exams. All I did was to help him become focused and practice to become adept at learning and answering questions. He thanked me a lot and I was glad that I could help him with his studies.
CUE CARD 26: DESCRIBE AN AREA OF SCIENCE THAT INTERESTS YOU
I think that science has made an immense contribution in uplifting human society. It primarily has 3 branches, physics, chemistry and biology and if I talk about myself, I am particularly interested in biology and would like to talk about the same. This area of science involves the study of life and living organisms, including their physical structure, development and evolution on the Earth. I got interested in this subject when I was in 6th standard, as the subject was introduced to me for the very first time. My school books were full of pictures of animals and plants. I was surprised to learn how a tiny seed grows into a healthy plant, different species of flora and fauna; habitat in which they can survive and the features which help them to do so. Whenever, I saw a picture of a plant or an animal it made me even more curious about this subject. My teacher, Mrs Rawat was an exceptionally knowledgeable person and she made this subject easy and fun learning with her teaching skills. I remember vividly, there was a science lab in my school where we used to go every Saturday to carry out experiments and the activity I enjoyed doing in the lab was to observe micro-organisms with the microscope. There were times when students did not understand the lessons for the first time and Mrs Rawat have not scolded any children when they ask for an explanation to the teacher. In fact, for better understanding of certain aspects she often organized trips. Once our school organized a trip to Botanical Garden in Kolkata. It was a memorable trip and I had learnt a lot from this trip about different species of plants. Although, I have not studied biology in my college, I have a keen interest in this subject and in order to know more about different life forms and to keep my interest intact in this subject I do watch wildlife and plant shows on educational channels like Planet Earth and Discovery.
CUE CARD 27: DESCRIBE AN OLD PERSON YOU KNOW AND RESPECT
Well, I have many people in my life whom I respect, but most of them are not that old. However, I would like to tell you about a street vendor who sells fresh vegetables on his cart. He is a gentleman who is in his late 70’s. I have a tremendous amount of respect for this man. I know this person since my childhood because we buy all of the fresh and healthy vegetables from his cart. I am of 21 years now, and I am damn sure we are his customers before my birth. I would say he is like a family now. We stand with him in thin and thick, and so do he.
As I have told, he is in his late 70’s, but still, he is physically fit. He is slim and tall with grey hairs. He alone manages his entire cart. He is an honest and hard-working person. Sometimes, I ask the secrets behind his fitness. Once, he said, “I have lemon with honey every morning after a long walk”. Also, he had told that he does not consume much sugar and salt which are the roots of many health issues. I respect him because he is a self-made man with a kind heart. He never cheated with us. Moreover, by doing hard work, he has not only given the best education to his children but also fulfilled the dreams of many orphanage children by paying their school fees. He might not have a lot of money, but definitely, he has a big heart.
CUE CARD 28: DESCRIBE A SCHOOL YOU WENT TO IN YOUR CHILDHOOD
Today, I’m going to tell you about my secondary school, which was the place I spent nearly four years during my childhood.
To the best of my recollection, my school was located right in the middle of my hometown, and was within walking distance from my house. That’s why it only took me about 10 minutes to walk to school every single day. I don’t remember exactly but this school was built when I was in fourth or fifth grade. Back in the days when I was still studying at primary school, this school had always been my dream school because it looked incredibly beautiful. All the walls were painted in multiple bright colours, which really made it stand out from the surrounding buildings. I guess the main purpose of doing this was to create a sense of enjoyment for students to go to school every day.
Looking at the school from the outside, we could see a very big white gate at the front with the school’s name above it. Near this gate, there was a parking area where students and teachers left their vehicles before entering the building. There was a library, a computer lab, a canteen and two big playgrounds full of flowering plants. The school building itself was enormous so it could easily be seen from quite a distance.
CUE CARD 29: DESCRIBE A PLACE YOU VISITED THAT HAS BEEN AFECTED BY POLLUTION
Air pollution is a big problem in many, many cities around the world, where the authorities just don’t seem to know how to deal with it effectively. Today, I would like to talk about one such place – a residential area rather – which is also struggling with this air pollution problem. Anyway, the place, I want to talk about, is located close to one of the major industrial areas of Cairo which I visited about a couple of years ago in order to meet a good friend of mine. I met this good friend of mine on my first visit to Egypt when I went there to see one of the 7th wonders of the world – The Pyramid.
By the way, since I had visited Cairo a couple of times before my most recent visit, I was already aware of the terrible – I mean, really terrible – air pollution situation of the city, but little did I know that the air pollution problem in the particular area, where my friend lived, was even worse. In fact, within only a few days of arriving at my friend’s place, I started to have a mild cough, along with a blocked nose, due to harmful particles like dust, dirt, soot smoke and liquid droplets that could found in the air of that residential area.
Besides, I also noticed that a number of trees there looked colourless and lifeless because of the negative effects of air pollution there. In addition to that, a very thin layer of “dust-like” thing could also be noticed on many buildings there which made the buildings look essentially old and worn out.
Anyway, one of the main reasons for such air pollution of that residential area was that it was a bit too close to one of the major industrial areas of Cairo where dozens of heavy and large industries could be found operating. After all, the smoke and other toxic chemicals, released from the industries there, spread not only over the residential area of my friend but also all over Cairo City.
