Diverse English Accent
CELPIP preparation is not hard if you are determined and dedicated. What makes CELPIP special is that it is a test for Canadian English however it accepts both British and American accents. This is one of the reasons that gives CELPIP an edge over IELTS. You need not worry about the accent at all as it is not their priority at all.
The vocabulary used in CELPIP is not what you read in dictionaries or universities at all. The words are taken from everyday conversations and life. It means you won’t have to stuff your mind with all the difficult kinds of words that are not only hard to pronounce but are difficult to remember as well.
Technology has taken over the world. If you are a slow writer with a pen then don’t worry at all. The test that you wish to take is computer-delivered and it is easier as you can save a lot of time. The test comes with an additional spell checker and timer that will keep your speed in check and will guide you on your mistakes.

Types of CELPIP
CELPIP is divided into two types; The General test and the LS test. There is a difference of modules in these two tests with the general test having more modules than the LS test.
The General test has all four modules mentioned previously; writing, reading, listening, and speaking. The total time of all these four modules is 180 minutes. All these four modules are computer-based tests with the speaking section also. This format of the test is mostly taken by those who need to apply for immigration and residency in foreign places. The duration however is not equally divided as it differs with the most time given to the reading section.
- The reading section has the most duration with 8 tasks and almost 60 minutes. It determines your ability to read in different scenarios and environments.
- The writing section has two tasks and a total of 55 minutes.
- The listening section, which is on third, has seven tasks with 47 minutes.
- The last section is the speaking section with 7 to 9 tasks and a total of 20 minutes.
The LS section has only two modules and these modules include the listening and speaking sections. The total time of this test is one hour and ten minutes. The listening part is fifty minutes long. It has 6 tasks. The speaking part is allotted a total of twenty-five minutes. The speaking part has 8 tasks that need to be done in the given time. You need to be very clear while speaking as mumbling can result in heavily down marking the overall score.
